The Red Forest

This is the concept for a scenario I am working on for my comic: Maya’s Wasteland. The comic is about a little girl wandering a nuclear wasteland, surviving, making new friends and trying to find her dad in the process.
I was studying how radiation affects nature to see if I could get inspiration for different scenarios to appear in future stories in the comic when I came across an article that mentioned how after the Chernobyl nuclear catastrophe, there was a forest that had entirely changed colors, a forest basically full of red trees. As soon as I saw that I saw immediate potential for a striking visual.
This piece shows a bit of my usual creative process, where I thumbnail a few possible compositions, then make some rough lines to guide my perspective, block out the rough shapes, change the colors to create harmony, and add shading to create dimension.
The comic itself has been on hiatus for a while now due to personal reasons, but I am getting back to working on it this year. If you want to see more about its development you can press here to go to the project’s portfolio page.
Abandoned Suburbs

These concept art pieces are for a game I am currently working on with some friends called Fog Haven Town. It will be a game that is a mix of a survivor horror with a collectathon.
As a very brief summary of the story, you and your friends go to spend your summer vacation at your grandma's house, who lives in a very weird town that once was full of life, but now seems to be filled with weird creatures lurking around.
The idea behind the scenarios created was to give off that vibe of just being a kid fooling around in an empty street. It’s supposed to make you feel a bit scared and small when compared to the world around you, but still giving off that sense of wonder and mystery, this idea of exploring and trying to figure out what happened to this place, why everyone is gone.
